It's not about what we do but what we encourage others to do. This is a great reminder, and it's so important to teach it before someone enters a leadership/management role.
My hunch is that it doesn’t get taught nearly enough. A lot of companies will have leadership training but it is more focused on the individual leader. Becoming a builder of other leaders is another challenge.

Completely agree - that IC to manager switch is talked about so much but not taught.
